The Dorothy Skelton Art Scholarship
The family of local artist, Dorothy Skelton, has generously donated her
multimedia collection of artwork to Windmore. Additional donations
of artwork from Maria Hablutzel and others have helped perpetuate this
effort. With funds raised by the sale of this artwork, Windmore awards
an annual scholarship of $1,000 to encourage students to pursue their
education in the arts.
Mary B. Allen Art Award
Named in honor of local artist and longtime Windmore supporter, Mary
Allen, this annual award was founded to recognize an individual or
organization whose efforts mirror Windmore’s goal of encouraging
young people in the community to explore the arts and develop their
talents.

Festival
of Trees
Held annually beginning the weekend before Thanksgiving until the first Saturday
of December, Windmore’s Festival of Trees is our major fundraiser of the
year. Trees and wreaths decorated by the community are displayed at the Depot
and then auctioned during an evening reception. The number of participants and
the level of creativity in the entries have grown each year, making the Festival
of Trees a holiday tradition for Windmore and the community.
